11-Week Compassionate Communication Series

Course Overview

Series of eleven weekly two-hour sessions are offered four times a year: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

The first 6 weeks of the course will focus very specifically on learning the mechanics of the process itself, the basics. Included in this phase of our work together is a thorough overview of the conceptual framework as well as interactive exercises, self-study and role-plays.

The second part of the series begins with an extended focus on empathy… how to listen/receive what others are communicating and how to connect with ourselves compassionately. We will experience deeper grounding in the basics and apply the principles to issues such as frustration and anger. Additionally, practice with current communication challenges will give individuals a direct experience of the power of this new language to connect rather than divide. Finally, we will learn how to express appreciation in ways that foster celebration, trust and authenticity.

This course is for those new to Compassionate Communication (NVC) as well as those with prior experience who want to deepen their understanding and fluency with the process.

The self-study component is designed to help you absorb the material in a consistent, phased approach. The weekly curriculum, practice and hands-on coaching supports integration.
